In a display of increased vigilance by the BART Police Department, a young man with a loaded gun and a rap sheet was collared Thursday evening. The authorities nailed 20-year-old Chace Moore, a suspect wanted on an active warrant for a series of thefts and weapons charges in the East Bay after he tried to skip paying the fare at Lake Merritt Station.

According to BART PD's recent Facebook update, Moore attempted to make a break for it at approximately 5:36pm last night. His bid for freedom was short-lived, however, as officers swiftly put the cuffs on him in the tussle, they discovered the loaded handgun that had slipped down from his waistband into his pant leg.

A quick records check threw up an outstanding warrant from Pleasanton PD detailing various theft, evading arrest, and weapons charges against Moore. His capture, as confirmed by the BART Police, led to a subsequent booking at Santa Rita Jail.
