Identified by Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) detectives as the figures behind this sizable crime wave, Jevon James, 18, and a 16-year-old accomplice were apprehended while to seemingly be driving a stolen vehicle.
James is now facing a litany of charges including 15 counts of burglary of a motor vehicle, theft of property valuing between $10,000 and $60,000, and possession of burglary tools. The authorities have also charged his 16-year-old counterpart with theft of property in the same monetary range. As the SCSO detailed to FOX13 Memphis, both suspects were found in what was confirmed to be a stolen vehicle during the arrests.
In addition to the two teenagers cuffed for the break-ins, a third individual – a 15-year-old – was also caught in the web of law enforcement, taken in on an unrelated warrant out of Millington concerning the stolen vehicle, as WREG reported.
