Tiger Woods-Backed PopStroke Plans to Tee Off in Cedar Park with Mini-Golf and Entertainment HubSource: PopStroke

Cedar Park residents and visitors could soon be putting through Tiger Woods-backed PopStroke mini-golf courses complete with a host of amenities. PopStroke, co-owned by the famed golfer, is proposing to establish a new entertainment hub that would not only include mini-golf courses but also offer a restaurant, bar, and interactive games for a well-rounded leisure experience.

The proposed plan, as outlined by PopStroke representative Brad Carabajal, includes two 18-hole mini-golf courses sprawled over an 8-acre site. Along with the greens, patrons will have access to a full-service bar, a restaurant, and facilities such as an ice cream parlor, and a playground for kids. The beer garden at the Cedar Park location boasts additional attractions, including foosball, ping-pong, and cornhole. Carabajal described the project at a recent City Council meeting, "We are focused on bringing golf to all audiences," according to the Austin American-Statesman.

This venture is expected to generate 80 to 100 jobs and help attract tourists to the area, potentially enriching the local economy. As Carabajal mentioned in a Community Impact interview, "It would be the first of its kind in Central Texas." PopStroke is aiming to set a significant footprint in Texas, with other locations planned for Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio.

However, the realization of this project hinges on the approval of a special-use permit by the Cedar Park City Council. Concerns had risen over the potential disruption caused by big-screen TVs, especially their impact on a senior living apartment complex across the street. Addressing these worries, Carabajal assured, "the TVs would be placed in a different area and would not affect the apartment complex," as reported by the Austin American-Statesman. With the Planning and Zoning Commission's unanimous backing, the project now awaits further Council discussions during a forthcoming meeting.

If all goes as planned, construction of the PopStroke facility could be completed within eight to ten months, with a slew of entertainment options and a fresh take on miniature golf set to enrich the Cedar Park area.
