Three men suspected of an unarmed robbery were nabbed by the Boston Police Department's A-1 Unit yesterday afternoon in a downtown sting. The suspects, nabbed near Washington St and Broomfield St, were subsequently caught on Province St with the aid of a dispatch, according to the Boston Police official reports.

The incident occurred around 4:39 PM when officers sprang into action following a disturbance report. The authorities managed to locate Marcos Polanco, a 23-year-old from Worcester, Ezequiel Rodriguez, a 24-year-old resident of Dorchester, and a 17-year-old juvenile after they were fingered by victims. Victims at the scene provided details leading to the arrest of individuals, who had allegedly lifted an envelope packed with cash and jewelry.

In the aftermath of the swift police work, officers were able to recover the stolen goods which included $1900 in cold hard cash and a personal cell phone. A further search revealed that the suspects had more than just stolen items in their possession – a plastic bag containing Xanax pills was found, alongside another suspicious bag containing a substance resembling something illicit.

The trio was quickly slapped with charges for unarmed robbery post their arrest. Additionally, the list of offenses for Polanco grew with a possession charge of a class E substance, the minor faced accusations relevant to receiving stolen property, and Rodriguez landed an extra charge for toting a class B substance. The accused are set to face justice in Boston Municipal Court.
