The spectacle of the spilled pineapples drew the attention of rubberneckers, causing a slight backup on the highway. Crews rushed to clear the area and restore normal traffic flow, managing to corral the fruit and remove the overturned truck. Commuters were advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays as the cleanup continued throughout the morning. The road was littered with pineapples, many of which spilled onto the brush, creating an unusual roadside fruit salad scenario.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation issued a statement urging drivers to exercise caution while passing through the area and allowing extra time for their journeys. While the investigation is ongoing, no further injuries have been reported, nor have charges been filed at this time. The highway has since been cleared and reopened, restoring the usual pace of Massachusetts travel until the next unexpected event causes it to skip a beat.
