The South Memphis community is reeling after one pregnant mother was shot and killed in a recent street altercation. As two individuals face their first court appearance for their roles in the violent episode, the family of the deceased, Tamara Plummer, is grappling with profound loss.
Destiney Plummer, the victim's daughter, is charged with Reckless Endangerment with a Deadly Weapon, while Je'On Davis faces the gravest of charges, including First-Degree Murder and Being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun, according to WREG.
At Davis's initial court hearing, Judge Karen Massey laid bare the weight of the charges, stating “Mr. Davis, that charge carries with it life with parole, life without parole, or the death penalty.”
As the Plummer family mourns, they shared with FOX13 the harrowing detail that Tamara was expecting her fifth child, adding another layer of tragedy to their loss. The shooting allegedly erupted during a fight involving children.
