Tragedy struck Clarksville early Sunday morning, resulting in the death of two individuals after a collision between a motorcycle and a car. The ill-fated incident took place just after 9:00 a.m. on Madison Street at the intersection with Richview Road, according to reports from the Clarksville Police Department.
Authorities confirmed that the motorcyclist, identified as 25-year-old Brian Thompson, was pronounced dead at the scene. 79-year-old Gwendel Conner, a passenger in the vehicle struck by Thompson's motorcycle, succumbed to their injuries hours later. WKRN reported that the condition of the vehicle's driver, who survived the initial crash, has not been made public at this time.
Following the crash, the westbound stretch of Madison Street where the incident occurred was closed, disrupting traffic for several hours.
Police have opened up the roadway since the incident, ensuring normal traffic flow has resumed. The Clarksville Police Department has yet to release additional details about the crash, but they have issued a call for witnesses. "Anyone with information or additional video footage is asked to please contact FACT Investigator Harrington at (931) 648-0656, ext. 5227," said a statement obtained by FOX 17.
