San Francisco reels from a vehicular tragedy that unfolded yesterday, resulting in two fatalities and three hospitalizations. The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) stated the harrowing event near West Portal. As per the SFPD, multiple victims were discovered at the intersection of Ulloa Street and Lennox Way after a vehicle careened into a bus stop at around 12:13 p.m. yesterday. Despite immediate aid rendered by first responders, two individuals could not be saved and were pronounced dead at the scene. "This incident was a heartbreaking tragedy," the SFPD said.

Reflecting the city's somber mood, Mayor London Breed visited the site of the collision, which claimed the lives of a child among the deceased. "Today there was a tragic collision in West Portal. Two lives were lost, including a child. Three more are in the hospital. I’ve just visited the scene and it is heartbreaking," Breed expressed on her official X page. The mayor emphasized that the focus remains on the victims and their families during this difficult time.
The SFPD Traffic Unit and SFMTA are still investigating details regarding the cause of the crash. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) conveyed its condolences and confirmed the involvement of both agencies in the investigation. "Early this afternoon, someone drove a vehicle onto the sidewalk and into a bus shelter at Ulloa and Lenox at West Portal," the SFMTA declared shortly after the incident.
