
Tragedy struck in the early morning hours in Union as a fierce blaze claimed a residential property along with two lives, as reported by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
Firefighters and deputies responded to the 9600 block of Knolltop Road shortly after 4 a.m. to find a home fully engulfed in flames.
Despite their immediate action, first responders were unable to safely enter the inferno-ravaged home.
Assisting agencies worked collaboratively to quash the fire, but the battle to save the residence proved futile. The aftermath of the incident revealed a harrowing discovery of two bodies within the charred remains. The identities of the deceased are yet to be officially confirmed according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
