
In a shocking daylight theft, a University of Memphis student was left shaken after a man robbed her of her beloved French bulldog on campus, authorities reported. The student, whose identity remains undisclosed, was taking her pet for a stroll around 2:30 p.m. on Friday near Patterson Street and Mynders Avenue when the perpetrator confronted her, as per Local Memphis.
University of Memphis Police elaborated that the man exhibited threatening behavior and ominously indicated he was armed with a weapon then he took the dog and fled, leaving the owner distraught and the local student body on edge. He made his getaway in a conspicuous blue Ford Mustang, tearing southbound on Patterson reports Action News 5, in what is an affront to the sense of security once felt by the campus community.
The suspect, still at large, has been described as hovering around 6 feet tall, his head adorned with dreadlocks, and cloaked in a blue hoodie. This description has been widely circulated in hopes that someone might recognize the individual and come forward with information.
Compounding the urgency, the University of Memphis Police and the Memphis Police Department are urging anyone who might have insights into the suspect's identity or whereabouts to reach out.
