"He was a student leader who would rise by uplifting others," the interim Provost Guillermo Prado and senior vice president for student affairs & alumni engagement, Patricia Whitely said in an email to students, information which was reported by The Miami Hurricane.

A native of Coral Springs and an alumnus of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Bishop was present during the tragic 2018 shooting. Beyond his academic and leadership roles, he also stood out for his kindness and humor, according to The Miami Hurricane's news editor, Caroline Val, who said, "I already miss him so much, but it’s beautiful to see how many people he’s touched with his kind heart, his witty humor and, unwavering determination." His work as a tutor and his enthusiastic "Woo!" at campus events will be part of his lasting legacy.

The university is coordinating a celebration of Bishop's life, with details forthcoming. Construction plans on street safety improvements where the accident took place are slated to begin in November 2025, which include medians and pedestrian signals, as revealed by a public meeting held by the Florida Department of Transportation. The CGPD is currently investigating the tragic incident. Bishop's death has not only left a void in the university but has also brought renewed attention to the ongoing concerns for pedestrian safety in the area.
