Traffic turned tragic last Thursday when a Weymouth man lost his life in a shocking highway accident, police said. State troopers rushed to the scene on Route 3 southbound near exit 38, following reports of a collision that occurred roughly around 6:30 PM. The incident involved a 2008 Nissan Altima and a pickup and ended in a fatal twist of metal and shattered glass.
Patrick Mulligan, aged 60, was behind the wheel of the Altima. He was promptly rushed to South Shore Hospital, tragically, he was pronounced dead not long after his arrival. A GMC Sierra was the other vehicle involved in the crash, whose driver sustained only minor injuries, according to authorities. In what was a brief report released by Massachusetts State Police.
