
A fatal collision claimed the life of a woman and left two injured in Phoenix this Sunday morning, noted a report by 12 News. The incident, which occurred around 10:45 a.m. at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Baseline Road, involved two vehicles, with one attempting a left-hand turn onto a private drive when it was struck by the other, per authorities.
The severe impact necessitated the extraction of two victims from the wreckage before they were rushed to the hospital in critical condition and although Phoenix Fire Department was quick on the scene a 27-year-old woman, Samantha Starling who was a passenger in one of the cars later succumbed to her injuries as confirmed by the Phoenix Police Department, alongside which a third participant suffered minor injuries, treated on-site by firefighters, said the Phoenix Police Department. As investigations proceed, the precise cause of the crash awaits determination, the police said, with further details to follow upon the completion of a reconstruction process.
According to a briefing from the AZ Family, while two individuals remain hospitalized the driver of the second car received treatment for his injuries at the scene, the collision has incited a thorough investigation by local detectives, striving to discern the responsibilities and chain of events that led to this tragedy.
The aftermath of the crash saw a portion of Baseline Road shut down for several hours as detectives combed through the scene for evidence, but it has since been reopened for traffic,
