
An 18-year-old man has been charged with the robbery of a 37-year-old male on Chicago Transit Authority property, according to Chicago police. Edward Reed, of the 7400 block of S. Phillips Ave., Chicago, Illinois, faces one felony count of robbery.
Reed was apprehended by members of the Bureau of Counter-Terrorism Mass Transit Team, on April 8, 2024, near the 1100 block of S. State St. He was recognized as one of the offenders who allegedly robbed the victim in the early hours of April 7, 2024. The incident, which occurred around 3:50 a.m. in the 200 block of W. 63rd St., saw the victim deprived of his belongings on CTA grounds, the police said, in a statement obtained by Chicago Police Department's official website.
Following the identification and arrest, authorities have proceeded with charges against Reed. A detention hearing has been scheduled for April 9, 2024, at 2600 S. California.
