A 19-year-old suspect has been slapped with first-degree murder charges in connection with a February shooting that left another teenager dead in South Memphis, according to police. Keveous Bracy, who allegedly took part in the robbery that turned fatal, faces additional counts of especially aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
Details provided by the Memphis Police recall the incident occurring at the Long View Heights Apartments, located in the 2000 block of Philsar Street. The response came after a call around 7:15 p.m. on February 13, where they found the 19-year-old victim, Marqulo Mason, suffering from gunshot wounds following the robbery by four male attackers, as stated in a report from WREG. The young man was swiftly transported to Regional One Hospital but succumbed to his injuries thereafter.
The plot thickened when court records revealed a grim scenario. Four men confronted Mason demanding him to hand over his gun. Upon his refusal, they drew their weapons, and one among them fired, striking Mason in the chest, according to the documentation mentioned by FOX13 Memphis.
As this case unfolded, Bracy became the second man charged in relation to the deadly shooting, though his accomplices have yet to be named and bond information has not been made available.
