Mark your calendars, bookworms and social media savants, because between April 7th and 13th, you'll have the chance to show off your love for literature during National Library Week, courtesy of the AJ Library. They're rolling out a creative challenge for all to partake in via Instagram and Twitter, aiming to spread the word about their resources and celebrate the community's reading habits.
In what's shaping up to be a captivating blend of literary love and digital engagement, the AJ Library is inviting folks to post themed photos to their social media accounts; participants should tag @ajlibrary and use the hashtag #AJReads, all in hope of winning some unique prizes like bookish vinyl stickers and coupons for the library's used bookstore, the Apache Junction Public Library’s Facebook page swelled with details about the competition. With a different theme assigned to each day of the week, the library promises a fun-filled agenda that includes everything from showcasing the book you're currently devouring to sharing snaps of your secret reading spots and even the plants you've grown from seeds obtained at the library.
Monday's theme will get the ball rolling by asking participants to post pictures of their current reads, while Tuesday turns the lens onto their favorite reading nooks; Wednesday celebrates the library's Seed Library with a green thumb showcase, followed by a Thursday throwdown featuring favorite library corners. Friday calls on patrons to flaunt their library cards (barcodes hidden, of course), and Saturday puts a spotlight on communal reading—grab a partner or an audience and snap away.
