Thieves struck in the dead of night at North Fair Oaks, San Mateo County. A report of an armed robbery was responded to by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office early Sunday, with deputies on the scene at the crossroads of 8th Ave. and Middlefield Rd., according to an official release. At approximately 12:31 a.m., a man was ambushed just after parking his car, punched in the face, and threatened at knife-point for his belongings.
The suspect, a Hispanic male, made off with the victim's property and fled on foot, last seen running east on 8th Ave. The victim left nursing minor injuries and received treatment at a local hospital. The local authorities have pitched the robbery as an "isolated incident."
