Authorities are turning up the heat on a suspected arsonist responsible for setting a fire on San Jose State University's campus last week. Cal Fire, in collaboration with SJSU Police, is scouring for leads and has released a description of the individual believed to be behind the blaze that scorched state property on March 31.
In a post from the official handle, @CAL_FIRE shared security camera footage that captured the suspect during the incident that unfolded around 5:18 p.m. The individual's gender remains unknown, but with light skin, a medium build, and dark hair, they stand between 5'8" and 6'00" and tip the scales roughly between 150 to 180 pounds, appearing to be in their late 20s to early 30s.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black hoodie and mirrored sunglasses, a red tube top or sports bra, dark blue pants, and black shoes. Not inconspicuously, they were carrying a blue and white piece of clothing and a tan-strapped bag over their left shoulder. Perhaps most telling, a red lighter was in their right hand.
SJSU Police together with the Arson and Bomb Unit, are intensifying their call for any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect.
