Avondale is gearing up for summer as the Parks and Recreation Department flips the 'on' switch to its watery wonderlands known as splash pads. From April 6, the splash-happy zones, nestled in Avondale's green expanses, will open their valves for the season. Tots to Teens can beat the heat every Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., as announced by a news release on April 2nd.

Eager beavers waiting to cool their jets should note that the welcome dampening will become a daily affair from Memorial Day Weekend through to Labor Day with extended hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. However, they'll have to hold their horses at the Festival Fields Park where the splash pad, sadly still in the grips of repair, won't be open until early May, as reported on Avondale's official website.

Avondale has you covered with four splash pad locations: Alamar Park; Festival Fields Park; Friendship Park, and Park Avenue Plaza at The Blvd. The details of which can be soaked up on their website.
