In Bellingham, Washington, a man's fate was sealed with an eight-year prison term for his felonious dance with drugs and guns. Adam Wisniewski, 42, received the sentence for narcotics distribution and illegal firearm possession, as announced by U.S. Attorney Tessa M. Gorman. The conviction lands him back behind bars, a place he's found himself spinning through before, in a "revolving door of offenses and imprisonment," as Judge Lauren King put it during the hearing in U.S. District Court in Seattle. Wisniewski had entered a guilty plea in February 2024 on counts including conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and illegally possessing firearms., as reported by the U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Washington.
It was back in April 2022 that detectives first caught Wisniewski red-handed with a deadly cocktail of fentanyl pills and powder plus a sidearm at the Silver Reef Casino. Having been ensnared once, the man managed to get caught a second time in June with a new pair of firearms and his signature fentanyl stash. Combined, the sweeping investigation led by a laundry list of enforcement agencies, grabbed 11.5 kilos of fentanyl pills, loads of other drugs, over $186,000 in dirty money, and nine firearms, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Washington.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Hobbs hammered home the danger Wisniewski's combo of guns and drugs posed. In a statement obtained by the Justice Department, Hobbs emphasized Wisniewski's repeated offenses, particularly the troubling "combination of drugs and guns" that marked a potentially explosive mix.
