
The Broward Sheriff’s Office is currently on the lookout for Leon Dunne, a 64-year-old man who is missing and was last seen in Deerfield Beach.
Dunne, identified as non-verbal and mentally challenged, disappeared near the 200 block of Northeast 44th Street around 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Local 10 News report; he was dressed in a black coat multi-colored blue-collared shirt, black pants and with multi-colored shoes and despite the clear description the authorities still have not been able to locate him.
The Sheriff's Office has released his physical details in an appeal for public assistance: Dunne stands 6 feet tall, weighs about 145 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes, spokesperson Gerdy St. Louis further characterized the situation with a sense of urgency given his vulnerability due to his mental challenges.
If anyone has seen Dunne or has any information regarding his current whereabouts, they are urged to contact BSO Detective Chris Blankenship at 954-321-4268, or the BSO's non-emergency number at 954-764-HELP (4357), a post from the Broward Sheriff's office on X also echoed this call for community vigilance and support in the hopes that the collective effort will bring about a swift and safe resolution to Dunne's disappearance.
