Corinth Stabbing Suspect Dezmond Irons Surrenders to Police After Public AppealSource: Corinth Police Department

A Corinth man, accused of a stabbing incident on a calm Sunday morning, has confronted the law by turning himself in. Dezmond Irons, 32, entered the Corinth Police Department voluntarily on Tuesday after authorities appealed to the public for help locating him, as reported by WREG.

Following the attack, the victim, who suffered a significant injury on the right arm, successfully received treatment, including stitches. It is understood after Irons was confronted about a social media account by the female victim, then the assault took place, WTVA reports. Irons, after police started making inquiries, found his name and face spread across Facebook, where police had earlier asked for information from the public.

Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi had previously announced a reward of $2,000 for information leading to Irons' capture, according to WCBI. However, the pursuit of justice or the avoidance of a larger manhunt perhaps prompted Irons' decision to surrender before any tips could be instrumental in his apprehension.

Now facing charges of aggravated assault, Irons' act of turning himself in contrasts with the violence of the Sunday encounter. While the authorities have yet to disclose the contents of the social media dispute that led to the stabbing, Detective Heather Russell remarked on the apartment on Pierce Street where the stabbing took place, obtaining her statement from WTVA
