A suburb of Dallas was rocked by tragedy when a child was fatally mauled by a dog in Duncanville, TX on the morning of April 15th. Duncanville Police Department, responding to a distressing call at a residence located in the 1500 block of Lime Leaf Ln around 10:40 a.m., found the child in an unconscious state following the brutal attack, the Duncanville Police Department reported.

Officers and paramedics at the scene performed life-saving measures -- desperately trying to revive the young victim before rushing the child to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas; this was accompanied by an emergency police escort, as the situation was well beyond critical, time was of the essence, with each second a currency they could scarcely afford to spend. Despite their swift actions, the child was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, a senseless loss that the community is struggling to comprehend.

The dog responsible for the attack has been taken into custody by Duncanville Animal Control. The department is investigating the circumstances leading up to the incident and has indicated that criminal charges may follow upon the conclusion of their probe.
