A fatal blaze erupted on Interstate 40 in Memphis after a semi-truck caught fire on Sunday, resulting in one person dead and another injured, authorities reported. The Memphis Police Department arrived at the scene near Sycamore View Drive at about 4:18 p.m. where they discovered two victims, one of whom was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to the hospital in non-critical condition, as reported by FOX13 Memphis.

Following the accident, which preliminary information suggests was a case of domestic violence, all eastbound lanes of I-40 were closed, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation captured by TDOT cameras, an 18-wheeler had crashed into the median around 4 p.m. leaving behind a trail of fire the burning vehicle necessitated the response of the Memphis Fire Department, as per Local Memphis.
