Fremont Man Accused of Possessing Fake ID, Misusing Credit Card After Colma Traffic StopSource: Google Street View

In Colma, California, a routine traffic stop escalated into an arrest for fraudulent activities on Saturday evening. The Colma Police Department reported that at around 6:59 pm, officers pulled over a vehicle on Junipero Serra Boulevard for having expired registration tags.

Things took a suspicious turn when the driver, unable to present a valid driver's license, handed over a foreign passport instead. As he reached for his passport card, officers noticed a California Driver's License tucked away in his wallet. The driver claimed the license was not his. The officers' doubts were confirmed when the license turned out to be a fake, featuring the wrong photo and inconsistent birth dates, Colma Police Department reported on Facebook.

Upon further inspection, the DMV check revealed that the license number didn't exist in the system. An upside-down print on the back only added to the list of red flags. The situation thickened when the driver, later identified as 26-year-old Alberth Ninorojas from Fremont, was found to have a credit card in his possession that wasn't in his name.

Following a search, Ninorojas admitted to obtaining the fraudulent license to drive. He was arrested for possessing a fraudulent ID and misappropriating found property. Despite the severity of the offenses, Ninorojas was not held for long. After being slapped with a citation, he was released on his promise to show up in court, the Colma Police Department stated.
