Some of these VSDs are tasked with the county's underwater search and recovery missions, while others patrol streets or ride alongside the Mounted Patrol Unit. On April 20, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office used the #VolunteerRecognitionDay to extend their gratitude to these individuals, "No matter where they serve, VSDs dedicate their valuable time & skills to make a positive impact in communities across the County," as detailed by the Hennepin Sheriff. These volunteers are an integral part of the Sheriff's Office, with their services woven into the fabric of public safety and community support.
Recognizing the contribution of these volunteers, the Sheriff's Office's official Twitter account shared, "We thank all of our volunteers for their selfless service!" This expression of appreciation underscores the invaluable role volunteers play in extending the reach and capabilities of law enforcement across Hennepin County.
