Adding to the law enforcement ranks, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) welcomed a new squad of deputies. The ceremony was held this morning at Minneapolis City Hall, where Sheriff Witt swore in thirteen new members who will serve across a variety of roles including Court Services and the Adult Detention Center.
The fresh batch of deputies marks a new chapter for the HCSO, with many coming from within, having started their careers as detention deputies. To officially start to patrol the streets and man the jails, these deputies will harness a diverse set of skills and backgrounds, according to the HCSO's announcement on X.
The Hennepin Sheriff’s official X page celebrated the occasion, urging the community to join in welcoming the newcomers. "Please join us in welcoming this group of thirteen new faces to the HCSO family!" the post read.
