Hollywood Police Nab Suspected 'Bank Jugger,' Continue Search for Accomplices and Getaway VehicleSource: Hollywood Police Department

Hollywood cops cuffed a man they say was "bank jugging" — stalking victims who withdrew cash from banks to rob them. Kendrick Jones, 29, was arrested on March 26 after police say they caught him eyeing bank customers from his car, which was parked in a bank lot for a suspiciously long stretch.

According to Local 10, when officers from the Hollywood Police Department were conducting surveillance, they noticed Jones in his vehicle, engaging in what looked like meticulous surveillance of his own. The officers, initiated a traffic stop as Jones left the scene having noticed several traffic and criminal violations.

An inventory search of Jones' vehicle turned up a black ski mask, gloves and a glass window punch — items that Police associated with the modus operandi of bank jugging. Veda Coleman-Wright, a spokesperson for the Broward Sheriff's Office, defined bank jugging to Local 10 as when "suspects target and steal money from bank customers" by observing and then following them to steal the cash, often by force or vehicle burglary.

In a continued effort to tackle the bank jugging issue, Hollywood police said they are upping the ante on surveillance and undercover operations in bank areas. While Kendrick Jones sits behind bars, unidentified accomplices could still be at large. Acting on a tip, cops are now also hunting a dark gray 2016-2020 Mercedes GLA 200 that was seen evading a traffic stop in connection with Jones' alleged crimes, as detailed by NBC Miami.

The authorities have yet to release Jones' charges or bond information. Nevertheless, the Hollywood Police Department is seeking assistance from anyone with information regarding the incendiary vehicle to come forward. The public can reach the HPD at 954-764-4357 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 for anonymous tips.
