A massive blaze broke out early Monday at the construction site of a sprawling apartment complex in Prescott Valley, prompting a flurry of evacuations and road closures as firefighters battled the inferno. According to AZFamily, the fire ignited at the future site of the Legado Luxury Apartments on Florentine Road and Main Street, engulfing the structure which was under construction.
Authorities evacuated several units at the nearby Talking Glass Apartments, though residents were allowed back into their homes around 8 a.m., as per FOX 10 Phoenix. "The 685,000-square-foot building/parking lot structure that was under construction was completely engulfed in flames and is a complete loss," said Prescott Valley PD, as untouched by the fire, several buildings stood on the perimeter, bystanders watching the plumes of smoke.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the inferno, and the cause of the fire remains unknown. Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority officials, who were actively working to extinguish the fire as of last reports, have not yet released further information.
Florentine Road has seen closures at Lake Valley Road and Main Street, with drivers being advised to avoid the area stretching from Glassford Hill to North Lake Valley Road, including a shutdown of Center Court at Pav Way. The Talking Glass Apartments had Buildings C and N evacuated as a precautionary measure, wrapped in a thick blanket of smoke, while emergency vehicles filled the scene.
