
Chaos erupted in Midtown on Saturday when a gunshot-induced car crash sent two to the hospital in the early afternoon hustle, authorities confirmed. Memphis Police are currently on the hunt for a suspect involved in the incident, which took place at the intersection of Bellevue Boulevard and Peabody Avenue.
At approximately 2:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle crash; a specter of sirens and urgency, where one individual was found with a gunshot wound and rushed to Regional One Hospital in critical condition, while the second casualty, injured in the accident, was also transported to the same facility presenting with non-critical injuries according to FOX13 Memphis.
An eyewitness account from a St. John Methodist Church employee, identified only as Robert, recounted the dramatic events, "They thought he was dead," Robert disclosed, explaining the intensity of the victim's condition as he witnessed the crash unfold while awaiting parishioners, this according to a statement obtained by WREG News Channel 3.
The church employee further detailed that the black car involved, which was carrying three passengers, barreled through a traffic light crashing into a truck occupying two women and although none of the women were among the critically injured, the crash aftermath painted a distressing picture.
