An emergency medical technician at North Shore Medical Center in Miami-Dade County is facing charges after a patient accused him of sexual assault, according to police records. Anthony Wallace, 31, was taken into custody on Sunday following the troubling allegations.
During her testimony, the victim detailed disturbing events occurring on Saturday, alleging that after requesting a urine sample, Wallace followed her into the restroom, shut the door, seized her by the head, and coerced her into performing oral sex, Local 10 reported. Offering her pain medication in exchange for the sex act, Wallace has been ordered by Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Mindy S. Glazer to steer clear of the victim and the medical facility. "He forced her to perform a sexual act," Glazer said in court, according to an arrest report.
While charges have been laid, further details are sparse since Wallace invoked his right to remain silent upon police contact. He is currently held on a charge of second-degree sexual battery, and no attorney information for Wallace is available at the moment, as NBC Miami disclosed.
Judge Glazer, following the grave severity of the accusations, set his bond at $10,000 and reiterated the importance of the restrictions imposed on Wallace. "I am also ordering that you stay away from North Shore Medical Center," Glazer stated. The legal proceedings are an ongoing development, leaving the community and the involved individuals in a state of apprehension and expectancy for justice to run its due course.
