A Miami-Dade County public school IT employee, arrested on child molestation charges, has died in what authorities say appears to be a suicide, officials confirmed. Martin Zaretsky, aged 50, who worked at the Bob Graham K-8 Education Center in Miami Lakes, was found dead on Monday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Local 10 News.

Zaretsky had been booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on April 8 on multiple counts including seven charges each of lewd and lascivious molestation on a child and offenses against students by authority figures, as per jail records by authorities following detailed accusations that the tech department staffer engaged in inappropriate contact with minors and made unsettling advances.

An outspoken mother of one of the children involved in the case conveyed her dread that her own kin may not be the lone victim of Zaretsky's purported sinister acts, amidst a broader communal horror, the revelation of Zaretsky's long-standing predatory behavior has cast a profound shadow over the institution purported to be a haven of learning, upon learning the news, she relayed her distress, noting the potential existence of additional unidentified victims, as reported by Hoodline.

The school district was prompt in their response stating they were commencing with terminating Zaretsky's employment and ensuring the accused would not be eligible for reemployment within the district emphasizing that the allegations stood in stark contrast with the district's professional conduct code with the district spokesperson assuring that the schools police had launched a thorough investigation after which Zaretsky's arrest was made, according to a statement issued by the district.
