A Mississippi man has been charged with capital murder following the death of an infant in Lafayette County last month. The suspect identified as Matthew Brown, is currently held in custody, according to WREG.
Details point to a somber event unfolding on March 22, when deputies responded to a distressing call on County Road 520. As reported by Local Memphis, upon arrival, responders immediately initiated life-saving efforts for the unresponsive infant boy. Despite the efforts to quickly transport the child to Baptist Hospital, he tragically passed away.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office stated that Brown was arrested on April 4. However, the specific circumstances surrounding the infant's death have not been made public at this time.
