Nashville Man Charged with Assault and False Imprisonment in Elevator IncidentSource: Metropolitan Nashville Police Department

A 26-year-old man was slapped with charges of assault and false imprisonment after he allegedly got too close for comfort with a woman in an elevator earlier this month, according to police. Jamien Taylor is accused of making unsolicited sexual advances toward the woman near Public Square Park on April 4.

The incident, which was caught on multiple surveillance videos, shows Taylor purportedly following the woman into the elevator and crowding her space, "telling her he was going to kiss her," as the Nashville government officials reported. After pushing him away, the victim seized the opportunity to escape when the doors opened.

Taylor's identification was later pieced together from the elevator surveillance footage. Nashville’s Special Victims Division police detectives didn't stop there; they dug up additional video evidence that showed Taylor tailing multiple other women, though as of now, no further victims have come forward.

With Taylor now formally charged, authorities are urging anyone who might have crossed paths with him, or has knowledge about these described events, to dial up Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. "He was later identified from surveillance video," the Nashville.gov website indicates.
