A harrowing episode unfolded in Nashville when a woman took drastic measures concerning her ex-boyfriend's children. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, 30-year-old Jenny Men is accused of kidnapping her ex-boyfriend's two children from their school bus on Thursday. WSMV reports that following the abduction, Men allegedly messaged the father, demanding the return of her belongings in exchange for the children.
MNPD officials, after being informed of the situation, made contact with Men's brother in a bid to locate the children. As recounted by Fox 17, during a phone call initiated by her brother, Men hung up on him after being urged to discuss the incident with the authorities. Men, apparently reacting to the police's involvement, sent texts to the father threatening a "road trip" that might leave the kids "cold in the car."
The police managed to track Men's whereabouts by tracing her phone. She was found to be traveling westbound on I-40. Investigators ultimately persuaded her to return the children to safety. The specific details surrounding how detectives encouraged Men to come back remain undisclosed.
Escalating the tension, in messages obtained by WLBT, Men indicated she might undertake a "road trip" and intimated that she would "leave the kids cold in the car," exacerbating fears for the safety of the youngsters.
