The Maricopa County Fair is back in town and it's packing a punch with its brand-new attractions. This year's highlights are something to talk about: a Splash Sea Lion Show that'll flip your fins and a daredevil performance known as the Globe of Death. According to an ABC15 report, these sea beasts will be splashing around three times a day, but when they're not performing, they’ll be making waves in their giant swimming pools for your viewing pleasure.
But the fair isn't just about seal antics and motorcyclists risking their necks in a steel cage. As per a report by AZ Family, the theme this year is ‘Even MORE in ‘24,’ and director Karen Searle promises an even bigger and better fair experience. Rides, food, magicians, and livestock shows—there’s something for every kind of fair-goer. Speaking to a ABC15, Searle also highlighted that “the Maricopa County Fair has the largest youth livestock show in our state.” So, if you've got a hankering for some agrarian action or want to educate the kids on farm life, this is the place to be.
You've got until April 14 to catch all the fun that’s packed into the fair at the Arizona Exposition and State Fairgrounds, near 19th Avenue and McDowell Road. Whether you're in it for the thrill or just want to gorge on some funnel cake, the fair’s got your ticket to fun. Families note: little ones under 7 get in for free, and the rest of us can snag our tickets for a cool $10, with discounts available if you're quick on the draw.
And no need to worry about burning a hole in your pocket once inside—the entertainment shows are included with your fair admission. Between the bevy of rides and dizzying array of live performances, it’s a safe bet that boredom is one thing you won't find at this fair. So, grab your sunscreen and a hat, and make a beeline for that fairground, because the only thing missing from this carnival of delights, is you.
