A Pinecrest police officer was hospitalized Wednesday after being shot at a south Miami-Dade gun range, officials said. The shooting occurred at the Homestead Training Center—addressed at 11700 SW 304th St.—which is in close proximity to the Homestead Air Reserve Base, this incident unfolding just before the 2:30 p.m. mark, as per records obtained from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue dispatch.

As per a statement given by a Pinecrest police spokesperson, the intricate details of the shooting are to be meticulously parsed, and thoroughly vetted, by state investigators, "The circumstances around the shooting will be (investigated) by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement," they confirmed.

Meanwhile, the officer is receiving care at Jackson South Medical Center, with their condition not immediately available. Still, the good news is that she remains stable, NBC Miami reported.
