Portland police clamped down on crime in North Portland, clocking an eight-hour shift that netted a stash of illegal goods and a bunch of bad guys. The bust, taking place on April 2, was the work of neighborhood response teams from several precincts tackling hotbeds of unlawful shenanigans.
In these concentrated efforts, the cops made 13 arrests, including a notable collar in cooperation with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, of a perp wanted for some serious allegations, including Aggravated Identity Theft and Elder Abuse Fraud. The operation also led to 20 vehicle stops and the recovery of 3 stolen rides.
According to Portland Police Bureau's news release, one of the more significant hauls was a stolen firearm, yanked off the streets along with a modest, yet dangerous supply of drugs. In the mix were 8 Fentanyl pills, 2 grams of the same substance, and 29 grams of Methamphetamine.
These missions are becoming a familiar scene as just last month, a similar smackdown in Downtown Portland yielded arrests and drug seizures. The Portland Police Bureau points to these operations as proof of their ongoing battle against crime and general urban decay, their badges squarely aimed at the heart of city's trouble zones.
