Ramsey County is tipping its hat to its own – that's right, it’s rolling out the red carpet for the folks behind the scenes during National County Government Month. Announced on April 9th, the county is lauding their dedicated employees, according to a recent announcement. With a mission to honor the essential services provided by counties nationwide, Ramsey County is one of 3,069 counties across the country joining in on this celebration.
Embracing the theme of the month, “Counties Matter,” the board of commissioners have expressed their gratitude to commend the hard work of employees who often go unnoticed. "The board of commissioners celebrates our Ramsey County employees for their dedicated service to our communities and expresses gratitude for the time and talent that they bring to their work each day," serving more than 330 million residents, these counties deliver every service from public health to park management.
A slew of online activities are set to take center stage for the celebration. Ramsey County residents can watch presentation videos, read the grand proclamation, and gawk at a curated Flickr gallery. This all comes hot on the heels of messages from the county board emphasizing community, diversity, and equity, showing some much-deserved appreciation for those working tirelessly in the public sector.
The accolades keep coming as the county acknowledges the breadth of services that touch virtually every aspect of residents' lives—right from public safety to library administration. A message from Ramsey County Board of Commissioners went out, with warm fuzzies for their employees, emphasizing "Ramsey County's vision and mission, emphasizing community, diversity and equity." When it comes to recognizing the contributions of their staff, Ramsey County definitely isn't shy.
