Emergency personnel rushed to contain a fire at Stony Point High School in Round Rock on Wednesday after flames took hold of a portable classroom. According to CBS Austin, the blaze began around 5:27 p.m. and threatened several other nearby structures.
With speed, the Round Rock Fire Department deployed a total of 11 units to combat the fire. The inferno was intense enough to put four additional portables at risk of catching fire. Reports from the ground shared that teams were able quickly to suppress the flames.
Fortunately, the classroom was empty at the time, and officials confirmed that there were no injuries. The lack of casualties in such events is always a stark reminder of the importance of fire safety protocols in educational institutions.
