A heist gone awry has left the owners of a Northwest Portland restaurant reeling after a burglar plummeted from the ceiling into their establishment. The botched burglary occurred early Sunday at the now-shuttered Starbucks on the 1300 block of NW 23rd Avenue.

The unidentified suspect, along with an unknown number of accomplices, is believed to have cut a hole in the ceiling to sneak into the neighboring Top Burmese restaurant, according to KPTV.

The disoriented intruder was captured on camera crashing into the kitchen area, an incident currently under investigation by the Portland police. The suspects are accused of stealing thousands in inventory and equipment, and this bold caper has prompted a citywide search for those responsible.

KOIN 6 News reports that the restaurant co-owner, Kalvin Myint, expressed his dismay over the incident, stating, "This is our very first incident and we hope it's the last."
