Tragedy struck the streets of Chicago's Humboldt Park once again as bullets tore through the afternoon air, leaving three people—including a teenage boy—wounded. This violent episode unfolded on the 1200 block of North Keeler Avenue around 1:00 P.M., according to reports from the Chicago Police.

The adolescent, just 16 years old, received a shot to the leg and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, as the Chicago Tribune noted. The two other casualties, men aged 28 and 30, sustained stomach wounds. The former was rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital and the latter to St. Mary's, both reported in critical condition, added the Tribune.

At present, the shooter remains at large, with law enforcement devoid of suspects in custody. Area detectives have taken up the investigation, scouring for clues that might illuminate this daylight attack. As for a motif driving the violence, details remain scant.
