In the early hours of Friday morning, tragedy struck on Interstate 95 near Boca Raton when a man in a Hyundai Elantra drove the wrong way and collided head-on with a Ford Fusion. The catastrophic incident, which occurred just south of Palmetto Park Road, resulted in three fatalities, as reported by The Palm Beach Post.

The collision took place around 2:30 a.m., when the driver of the Elantra, traveling southbound in the northbound express lane, struck the Fusion, which was being driven by a 34-year-old man from Highland Beach. The impact was severe enough to rapidly send the sedan between the two express lanes. Florida Highway Patrol officials have yet to publicly identify the individuals involved in the deadly encounter.

Debris from the crash scattered across the highway, obligating an immediate response from Boca Raton and Coconut Creek Fire Rescue personnel. Upon arrival, they pronounced the drivers of both cars deceased at the scene. According to further information via BocaNewsNow on X, a female passenger of the Ford Fusion was critically injured in the crash and was subsequently rushed to Delray Medical Center.

Despite immediate medical intervention, the woman succumbed to her injuries the following day, troopers said, adding a third casualty to what is already a heart-wrenching event.
