The airwaves of Boston's 98.5 The Sports Hub are getting a shakeup, as Tim McKone steps up to the mic as the new permanent third chair on the "Zolak and Bertrand" show. This move comes months after the departure of former co-host Robert "Hardy" Poole, who left to join another program on the station.

Host Marc Bertrand heralded McKone's full-time arrival on the show during the Monday broadcast, "After much deliberation and, an extensive interview process. And, after many months, we have decided that we’re going to, let Tim McKone hang out here every single day with us going forward. Every day. Every day, five days a week," he said, as reported by Boston 25 News.

McKone, energized by his new role, told The Boston Herald, "I’ve been filling in with you guys for a long time obviously for like 10 years now, so this is my favorite show, top three favorite shows to work on." His banter with former Patriots QB Scott Zolak and Bertrand has become a staple of the program, with Zolak declaring, "That's my boy!" upon McKone's announcement.

The shuffle in the lineup began earlier this year when Rich Shertenlieb stepped away from his role, making room for Hardy to transition to mornings alongside Fred Toucher. McKone has been with The Sports Hub in a part-time capacity since 2013, his voice already familiar to listeners across various weekday and weekend shows, as well as during Celtics and Bruins radio broadcasts. Now, after a string of contenders and, fill-in hosts since December, McKone is officially joining the midday sports talk show as a mainstay.
