CHAOS erupted on the streets of southwest Memphis as gunfire was exchanged and metal clashed, leaving two men hospitalized in critical condition. The violent incident unfolded around 9:15 p.m. on April 24, near 8th Rd. and Charter Ave, according to Local Memphis.

The Memphis Police Department rushed to the scene after receiving distressing calls of individuals trading bullets. Amid the pandemonium, one man was discovered with gunshot wounds and quickly whisked away to Regional One in a dire state. Another victim, embroiled in a car crash linked to the shootout, was found near 441 Delta, as reported by Local Memphis.
Investigators at MPD believe the two men are connected to the shootout, although details remain scant as the investigation is ongoing. So far, law enforcement has not made any arrests, nor filed any charges related to the incident. The motives and events leading up to the shootout remain obscured by the gun smoke of ambiguity.
