Two employees from schools in Palm Beach County are currently behind bars, slapped with charges of engaging in illicit relations with students. Jordan Augustine, 30, a former hall monitor at Royal Palm Beach High School, and Corey Pierce, 21, a substitute teacher who worked at Woodlands Middle School, face felony charges after disturbing details surfaced.
According to WPTV News Channel 5, Augustine is charged with unlawful sexual activity with certain minors and offenses against students by authority figures. Meanwhile, Pierce is accused of lewd or lascivious exhibitions of someone less than 18 years old and solicitation of lewd conduct with a student by an authority able figure. These two men are being detained without bond on one count and at $30,000 on the second.
Matters came to light when Royal Palm Beach High's Principal Michelle Fleming reached out to parents and staff about Augustine's arrest. Fleming stated that Augustine would not return to the school and urged anyone with more information to step forward. Pierce’s infractions were noted during on-campus interactions, where he is reported to have kissed students and made advances beyond the acceptable bounds of a teacher-student relationship.
Shockingly, details from CBS12 reveal that one of the middle-school-aged victims reported that Pierce not only messaged her on social media but also attempted to kiss her and touch her inappropriately in the classroom. The other victim claimed to have seen Pierce kissing another student in a manner that suggests a severe breach of trust inherent in his role as a teacher.
