A woman in her mid-30s was pulled from the jaws of death in a fiery Murfreesboro home blaze on Friday, thanks to the quick actions of local fire department heroes. The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD) received a call about a residence engulfed in flames on Amberwood Circle at about 8:30 p.m., with a report of a trapped occupant.
Responding to the emergency, the MFRD swiftly rescued the woman while other family members, including her husband, her mother-in-law, her daughter, and even the family dog, had already escaped to safety. According to WKRN, officers with the Murfreesboro Police Department later took the woman to the hospital for evaluation after she opted not to be transported by ambulance.
The fire crews "aggressively attacked" and "quickly" extinguished the fire, preventing the blaze from causing further mayhem to the home, WSMV reported. A thorough search was conducted by the firefighters to ensure that no other individuals were in imminent peril inside the home.
While the fire's cause remains under investigation, the community has lauded the rapid responsiveness and bravery of the firefighters who answered the call.
