In the early hours of Thursday morning, Worcester's peace was shattered by the alarming incident of a home invasion. According to the Worcester Police Department, Joshua Paul, a 42-year-old from Grafton, was apprehended after allegedly breaking into two residences while armed with a baseball bat and a hammer.
The report details that officers responded to a call at approximately 1:11 AM at an address on Country Club Blvd, where they found a male matching the suspect's description. Mr. Paul was detained after he dropped the aforementioned weapons. Residents had reported the suspect forcefully entering homes, which included the alarming detail of him venturing into a child’s room in one of the apartments before fleeing to the basement.
Upon further investigation at the scene, police observed that the door frames of the front doors to both apartments had been damaged. Faced with the evidence of his alleged break-ins and the testimony of witnesses, Worcester PD slapped Paul with charges. He now faces several serious accusations including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Breaking during the Night to Commit a Felony and Vandalism.
