Worcester Police Arrest 19-Year-Old Suspected of Crack Cocaine Distribution in Castle ParkSource: Google Street View

In a bust reminiscent of a scene from a cop show, a young man's alleged drug deal in broad daylight was cut short last Thursday by the vigilant Worcester Police Department's Neighborhood Response Team. The WPD reported that they nabbed 19-year-old Gasno Saintilme in the Castle Park area yesterday after he was spotted making a suspicious transaction on Alden Street.

According to police, the officers saw Saintilme hastily exchanging small baggies for cash, not knowing police eyes were trained on him. They swooped in at around 12:25 p.m., stopping Saintilme for questioning before a search revealed four individually wrapped clear baggies, believed to be crack cocaine. A spring-loaded knife, tucked away, was found on his person as well.

The arrest did not end there for the young man; police charged Saintilme with a string of offenses. He's facing allegations of distribution of a Class B substance, possession to distribute Class B, and also for the possession of a per se dangerous weapon. There was no immediate word on a lawyer for Saintilme or a date set for his initial court appearance.

Details of the incident came to light earlier today following a statement issued by the Worcester Police Department. The statement notes the arrest is part of ongoing efforts by the NRT officers to clamp down on drug activities in the area. Crafted to keep streets safe, the officers continue patrolling high-risk areas, keeping an eye peeled for any illicit transactions and acting swiftly upon them.
