
A 16-year-old male has been apprehended and charged with felony robbery after allegedly wielding a dangerous weapon in a heist on Chicago's West Side, law enforcement officials reported. The incident, which resulted in the teenager's arrest, took place on the evening of May 29, 2024, and involved the theft of property from a 43-year-old man.
According to the Chicago Police Department's charge release, the juvenile offender was identified and subsequently charged after being taken into custody at around 8:15 p.m. near the 1100 block of N. Luis Munoz Marin Dr. W., which is a mere skip and a hop from where the alleged robbery occurred in the 3300 block of W. Division St. within the 11th District.
The specifics of the weapon involved have not been disclosed, and the authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crime. The apprehension was a result of swift police work, with the suspect being located and arrested within a short time frame following the robbery incident.
